THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO SOLVING THE MOST COMMON HAIR PROBLEMS
Much like your DNA and your fingerprints, your hair is unique to you. The factors that influence your hair – from your diet to your local environment to the hair care products you use – can make the difference between a bad hair day and a fabulous one. Below, we discuss the most common hair problems people reach out to us with, and how to solve them!
Static and Flyaways
Static and flyaway hair is often caused by a lack of humidity in the air. In fact, you may experience an increase in the amount of flyaways you suffer from during winter months when the humidity in the atmosphere decreases materially. This problem can be worsened by the hats and scarves you might wear during colder months, which can cause friction against the hair shaft and increase breakage and flyaways.
To combat static and flyaway hair, you need to ensure your locks remain moisturized by embracing a hydrating hair care routine. We recommend you use slightly more Routine Conditioner during the winter months and let it remain in your hair for a bit longer than you normally would during warmer months in order to adapt to the environment outside. In addition, you might want to try a bit of Routine Hair Serum to help ensure your scalp remains healthy and moisturized. Finally, if you do wear a hat or scarf, we recommend you find one that is silk lined to reduce the amount of friction your hair experiences.
Thinning Hair
There has been a huge increase in the number of women who suffer from thinning hair, according to a New York City based dermatologist that we interviewed. The causes for thinning hair run the gamut from the lack of a proper diet, to menopause, and even COVID.
If you’re in good health and have ruled out other causes, we recommend you try Routine Hair Supplement, which is made from ingredients that have been clinically proven to thicken hair. For instance, our supplement is made with Magnesium Biotinate, which is 40 times more soluble than D-biotin – the type of biotin that is commonly found in most other supplements. Routine Hair Supplement also contains other ingredients to fight thinning hair like Eggshell Membrane, Saw Palmetto, and Kelp.
Split Ends & Breakage
Split ends are the curse that never goes away. No matter what your hair care routine looks like, you are bound to experience split ends and breakage. Generally, this is caused by friction that your hair experiences on a daily basis, from drying your hair with a towel to combing it with a brush or even putting on a sweater.
The only true way to defeat split ends is to cut them off where they start, meaning that you should get regular trims to remove split ends. That said, you can take steps to keep split ends at bay before your trim. First, be sure to use a hydrating conditioner like Routine Conditioner to ensure your hair is properly moisturized. Second, reduce the amount of heat you expose your hair to. That is, try to reduce the number of times you use an iron on your hair, and if you must use heat, try to use a lower setting than you normally would. Finally, be gentle with your hair, especially when it is wet. Wet hair is the most vulnerable to damage, and if possible, try to dry your hair by patting it down with an old shirt rather than using a harsher towel.
Frizz and Dryness
While you might see an increase in the number of flyaways during colder months, you might see an increase in the amount of frizz you experience during warmer months. Hair frizz occurs when your hair is dry and the cuticle opens up and attempts to absorb moisture in the air surrounding it. When the cuticle opens up, your hair looks frizzy and dull.
To combat frizz and dryness, you need to ensure that you follow a routine that properly moisturizes your hair. We recommend you use a hydrating conditioner, and follow it with Routine Hair Serum as needed.
